Always winter in Mary's world

Mary loved winter and Christmas. She would leave most of her Christmas decorations up all year and this drove her husband Daryl crazy. Although we started to point out to him that a lot of it wasn't Christmas decorations but were actually winter decorations (i.e. snowmen) that he started to feel a bit better about it. I remember one day in the middle of summer we were teasing Mary about all the Christmas / winter decorations that were still up in the house and we were having a lot of laughs about it. Then we all got in her car to go to Cochrane and what did she have in her tape player - Celine Dion's Christmas music. Did we ever laugh! So it wasn't just in her house, she actually listened to Christmas music in the middle of summer! So it was very fitting that Mary passed away on a beautiful snowy night in Calgary - just like a winter's day - even though it was a unlikely snowstorm in the middle of April. We almost lost her the day before but it was a hot spring day - that's not the kind of day that she would have picked. I like to think she picked the snowy day - or else someone made it snowy for her...

Nice story I always tell my customers about my sister who has snowmen up year long and how it drives my brother-in-law crazy. And what about the big red bows that were on the entrance to their property year round.
