Many fond memories of Mary, from Pets, plants & toys at Marlborough, running across Mary at the Foothills Hospital, where she was in labour (in a closet) with Shane. Mary was a truly wonderful person who touched many lives. God Bless you all in this time of sorrow.

I only had the good fortune of meeting Mary a couple of times through her sister Nancy. The first time Mary and Barb were staying at Nancy's apartment at the temple in Vancouver, they were so sweet. She made me puffy cake! It was awsome. I still have the recipe and the warm feeling that she gave me. The ladies in this family are extremely special, they make you feel like you're a friend even if you hardly know them. I feel lucky to have met Mary.

My sympathy is with you all.

Sincerely,
Dhanistha dd

Mary was the most amazing person I have ever came in contact with. She had the ability to make every obstacle achievalbe, no matter the difficulty. I am who I am mostly because of the care and advice from her. I will never forget Mary and every time it snows, I will speak with her. All my thoughts and prayers are with Mary and her family. What a beautiful service that was. The music was perfect. A few times while working during the evening with Mary we would change the music to the country station. Every time a co-worker would complain Mary would say some little fact about the song that was playing. "Did you know he was a nurse in pediatrics here in Calgary?" "He married Nicole Kidman you know, and then went to rehab." "You know Bridget Jones, they were married for four months." She always had something interesting to say and was a ton of fun to work with. I feel honored to have known her and am looking forward to seeing her again.

I was so saddened to hear about Mary's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you Daryl, Shane and Kris for your devastating loss.

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.

I worked with Mary for a few years at Sears Southcentre. I worked the switchboard and was also in charge of the music that played in the store. Mary loved her 70s music. When I'd get to work, I knew she was in when the music station was changed to Ch. 70, which played 70s music non-stop. I made a deal with her, when she was in the same day I was in, I allowed her one hour of her 70s music, then she'd allow me one hour of my R&B/Pop station. Sometimes I'd try to keep my station playing for longer than one hour thinking she was busy and wouldn't notice, but I couldn't get past Mary. No matter how busy she was, she noticed when her 70s music wasn't on. My condolences to the Morel family. I'll miss Mary! Every time I hear 70s music, it'll remind me of her.

Mary was the one that hired me when I worked at Sears Southcentre.
I remember the interview, she had such a bubbly personality, and she always made me laugh. She has a way to make people feel really happy and comfortable. I will never forget her. I remember at our morning meetings she would tell us about the latest animal that crossed her path on her drive to work. Always made everyone laugh.
She will be greatly missed!

My deepest sympathy to Mary's family. I was shocked to hear of her passing. She was a very special lady who always had a kind word for everyone as well as a great sense of humor. Everyone at Sears Southcentre can recall her famous stories at morning meetings that kept going on and on and on. When I broke my foot, Mary is the one who found me in a darkened stockroom and stayed with me right until the paramedics showed up. Thanks for all the wonderful memories Mary.

My heart breaks to hear of Mary's passing. A bunch of us Sears oldtimers were so happy to hear that Mary was coming back to Northhill as the Store Manager. We were excited and encouraged because Mary was hard working, intelligent, funny, and you could trust her in all things. I loved her laugh and her ability to make people feel good about themselves and validated. She would inspire people to do great things and was truly a mentor. Mary had such a beautiful spirit that will live in our memories forever. My heartfelt
sympathy goes out to her many friends and dear family.

My deepest sympathies to Mary's husband, sons and extended family members. I will always remember Mary as one of the nicest persons I have ever met. Mary was my boss for a while at Sears Southcentre. I remember Mary always wanting half of the bouquet of sweet peas I would bring in from my garden. This year my sweet peas will be planted in memory of Mary.

My sister and I worked with Mary for five years at Sears in Southcentre. She's an influential figure who will be sadly missed as she touched the lives of so many. A soft smile, sarcastic sense of humor and a humble personality. Mary, may you rest in peace.

Mary was a unbelievable boss and person, we had a lot of fun working together during my time at Southcentre Sears. I can honestly say that all the success I have had in sales from Sears to my current job is all because of what I learned working with Mary, from customer service to how look after your own staff no one did a better job or cared more than Mary. I will never forget all the ways she helped me during my time at Sears. I can't imagine the sorrow her family must feel at this time and I know my wife and I will be comforted by all of our fond memories of Mary.

Mary was and always will be one of the best. She was great in every aspect of her life. She was a great person, co-worker and family member. I've known Mary for over 10 years and must say she was not only my boss but also a very good friend. Everything in my career I owe to her. She taught me a lot in my career and in life. She will be missed by everyone she knew. To Daryl and her family, I feel for you in this time of sorrow. You will be missed Mary.

I can honestly say that every opportunity I have had in my career at Sears can be linked in some way to Mary. She had an uncanny ability to get the most out of her staff, well at the same time still being loved by her staff. I thank her for everything she has done for me. My condolences go out to her family and may she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the family. Mary was a great friend and boss. Mary was my boss for a while at Sears Chinook, but more than that I considered her a friend. Mary was a very special lady with a grace and smile that captivated everyone around her. She was fair and you always felt that you could trust her with a problem or depend on her assistance when needed. I remember being at the family home for a Craftsman hard lines barbecue. She treated you as part of the family. I recall her visits to Chinook as a Regional manager and her lists of Daryl's needs that she would give me to gather together. Whenever I would see Mary anywhere she had a friendly hello and sweet smile for you even if she was in a hurry. Mary, you will be missed as a great person and friend. My heart goes out to her family. I am sure that Mary is now busy being a friend to all who have gone before. Special people continue to touch hearts of those left behind and of those who have passed beyond. Life does not end it only pauses briefly and continues in a greater sphere. Love and hope for the whole family.
